Abstract

This study investigates the level of sharia financial literacy among undergraduate students. This study also examines the association between the students’ sociodemographic characteristics and their sharia financial literacy. The sample in this study amounted to 1833 respondents from 27 provinces in Indonesia, consisting of FoSSEI members from all majors, as well as non-FoSSEI members majoring in Islamic economics. The sociodemographic characteristics cover educational major, years of study, gender, university region, income, GPA, and participation in the KSEI organization. Using the analysis of the average difference test, the finding shows that 54.66% of the sample is categorized as well literate in sharia financial literacy, and this percentage is much higher than the other survey conducted by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan. Based on logistic regression, it is concluded that six of the seven independent variables studied were significantly associated with the level of sharia financial literacy.
